Why do I need a home monitoring service?
If you’re like most other home owners who are away for extended periods of time, you ask friends or relatives to check your home and property in your absence. Despite their good intentions, their visits become less frequent over time due to their own busy schedules. It’s even possible that you don’t ask anyone to “keep an eye on things” for you and simply leave your home unattended.
Our family business, Mind Your Castle, LLC will provide the eyes, ears and hands that keep you absentee and worry free! We will maintain and monitor your home and property with your choice of visit frequency and individualized add-on services. We’ll give you peace of mind with our reliable and professional service.
Is Mind Your Castle licensed, bonded and insured?
Yes, Mind Your Castle is bonded and insured, with the proper licensing.
How often will I be billed and what methods of payment are available?
You will be invoiced quarterly and payment is expected within the month. We accept certified checks, money orders and personal checks, payable to Mind Your Castle, LLC.
What happens in the event of an emergency, such as a hurricane?
We understand that you will be greatly concerned about your home. As soon as it is safe to be outside, the owners of Mind Your Castle will be inspecting all “our” properties, checking your home. PLEASE DO NOT CALL US AFTER A HURRICANE. We will put general information about the neighborhoods on our website as soon as we can. If there is damage to your home requiring immediate action, you will be promptly notified. If we do not hear from you within 24 hours, we will take appropriate action based on our agreement with you regarding emergency measures. There is no additional charge for the initial inspection after the FIRST MAJOR STORM OF THE SEASON. For any additional storms, there will be a normal visit charge. There will be additional charges for any services and actions required.
Is there a minimum or maximum contracted service period?
No, our customers are both part-time residents who are gone for months at a time and vacationers or business travelers who leave for days or weeks at a time. We also cater to the needs of individuals whose medical conditions require recuperation away from home, as well as those with homes that are empty, awaiting sale or probate. You choose the frequency of our visits to your home.
How far in advance must I contact Mind Your Castle?
We prefer at least 48 hours notice, but we are able to accommodate your emergency needs for last minute, unplanned situations that take you away from home.
Will I meet the person who will be monitoring my home?
Yes, Mind Your Castle is run by the owners, Bob and Wendy Morris and you will meet us both. We have no employees, we do all of our own home monitoring. The whole concept of our service is based on mutual trust. We want you to feel confident that your home will be treated with the utmost care and respect.
